Though many versions of the character have been portrayed on screen, none have been flushed out as much as Ruffalo’s Hulk, having been playing the role for more than ten years now. His character has been explored so much so that Jennifer Walters, a cousin of Banner as well as She-Hulk herself, has been introduced through her own series.

The Incredible Hulk Director Louis Leterrier Hates She-Hulk

While the She-Hulk Disney+ series is a big step for the Hulk as a character, going from being unable to control his anger to teaching someone else how to be the Hulk the right way, the show itself did extremely poorly among fans. There were many complaints about the series, starting with the poor visual effects, to the odd and cringy writing, fans perhaps hated the show most out of all past Marvel projects. This sentiment isn’t something they share alone, as The Incredible Hulk’s director, Louis Leterrier has recently commented on the subject.

“I like She-Hulk, but then you know, yoga between Hulk and… I was like ‘Okay! Yeah, we’re very far from my Hulk…” he stated.

The director talked about how the evolution of the character of Bruce Banner has taken a path that he wouldn’t have chosen in for his version of the character, played by Edward Norton. Leterrier went on to say that though he loves the character of She-Hulk in the comics, he was reminded how different a direction the MCU had taken with both her and Banner’s character when he saw the two doing yoga together.

Fans React To Louis Leterrier Hating On She-Hulk And Bruce Banner

“There was only a limited amount of things you can do with the rage monster version from The Incredible Hulk so having him evolve into the current smart version allows him to be much more versatile going forward. It would be nice to see the angry version once again though.” Said a fan.

Check out a few of the tweets below:

Many called the comment odd considering the fact that The Incredible Hulk ended with a scene where Banner was meditating. Some added that it is a good thing that his personality has progressed as that is what character development is, adding that it would be weird if the Hulk had remained the same after ten years on one screen. Some even went on to say that meditation is something that the character has been doing in the comics as well so it isn’t uncharacteristic.
