Lena Headey Is Somewhat Happy for the Downfall of Game of Thrones

Lena Headey is one of the most prominent and leading actors in Game of Thrones, based on George R. R. Martin’s novel series – A Song of Ice and Fire. She took on the role of Cersei Lannister and portrayed it from the very first of season 1 till the very last of season 8. During that time she became a very important character in the series (she already was) and held much power to her name till the end. Headey was highly appraised for her role in Game of Thrones and was even nominated for countless awards multiple times and she is quite thankful for it.

Recently in an interview with Newsweek, Lena Headey shared her thoughts and feelings about the show that skyrocketed her career in Hollywood and she also had a thing or two to say about its declining reach and popularity. She claimed that she was quite happy that the hype and craze for the show has died down quite a bit since it ended back in 2019. Headey added that though she is quite happy that the show has turned up to be a massive success, it has somewhat stopped her in her tracks to pursuing other opportunities in the industry.

The show had a massive budget of around $1.5 billion but in turn, the show earned $3.1 billion through HBO subscriptions alone. Furthermore, a prequel to Game of Thrones is also running and has attracted quite an audience with its story and plotline. House of the Dragon is also a part of the novel series and it is estimated to take place two centuries before the seven kingdoms fight over the Iron Throne. Though the show has only run for one season, a second season has been confirmed and is also in its production stage.
