It’s no secret that Marvel Studios have been going full speed ahead with their expansion project, may it be on the silver screen or their Disney+ OTT platform, the cinematic juggernaut has no intentions of slowing down whatsoever. From taking on 4 projects a year to jumping to 8 per year, it’s no speculation to say that this franchise is aiming to take over the entertainment world by going all in.

But due to this expansion, there is a certain void named uncertainty that has gripped not just most of the MCU fandom, but even the cast members of the projects that the studios have taken up.

One such incident comes from the cast member of Eternals. Barry Keoghan, who plays Druig in the film, has supposedly been calling his co-actor Kumail Nanjiani day after day to see if he might know something about the sequel of the Eternals film.

Barry Keoghan Wants To Know About Eternals 2

The Eternals was a feature film that focused on superheroes from ancient times that came to earth and traversed the planet, shaping humanity into the modern civilization as we know it today. A film made by Chloe Zhao, it was not particularly well-received,  either by the critics or the fans. But as with every film in the MCU, Eternals too was connected to the bigger picture of the multiverse. We were given the hope that the cast will return for a sequel in the post-credit scenes, but even after a year, we have no official news about an Eternals 2.

This news has not just been upsetting fans, who despite the negative reception, loved the movie anyways, but it has also seemed to be irking some of the cast members of the Eternals. The particular cast member in question will be none other than the actor who plays Druig in the film, Barry Keoghan. In an interview with Uproxx, Keoghan stated that he was constantly nagging his co-star and comedian Kumail Nanjiani about any news that he might know about Eternals 2.

“Kumail is always the one I’m texting, I’m like, ‘Yo, have you heard anything on ‘Eternals 2’?’ Kumail knows everything. You know what I mean? He loves comic books. The comic world. They’re secretly giving you all the information, and you’re just not telling Kumail. Maybe that’s what’s actually going on here. Well, I’m always texting him like about San Diego Comic-Con. I’m like, ‘Hey, are we going to San Diego for ‘Eternals’?’ but I’d love to see where it goes. I really would.”

Barry Keoghan believes that due to Kumail Nanjiani being such a comic-book nerd, he would definitely know if the Eternals might have a future adventure to be told to the audience. Despite Keoghan’s enthusiasm, we have not seen anything official from Marvel Studios.

Fortunately for the fans that were waiting for an Eternals sequel, the good news is that not everything is in doom and gloom. Earlier this year, Patton Oswalt, who voiced Pip the Troll in the Eternals’ end-credit scenes, revealed that the Eternals 2 was in the works with Chloe Zhao returning to helm the project once again. though we have yet to get an official statement from Marvel Studios about the return.

Despite the unenthusiastic response to the earlier film, fans are still hoping to see the Eternals one more time on the silver screen.
