The world of anime works in mysterious ways. There are many series out there which has got fans waiting for a second season desperately, and one such particular series is Yona of the Dawn, which came out nearly a decade ago and has managed to gather quite a fan base.
However, what fans have seemed to receive instead is a musical adaptation, which was announced on the official Twitter account for the series. While not exactly an animated series, some fans are happy to see a new movement in the franchise, while some, on the other hand, are furious.
Yona Of The Dawn Announces A New Musical Adaptation
As stated before, the official account for the franchise has announced a musical adaptation of the much-liked series. More information was shared on the official website, announcing the venue and other related details that usually come with musicals.
The website revealed how the Musical will be taking place at Tokyo’s Theatre H in July 2024. The play, based on Mizuho Kusanagi’s works, will be directed by Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi with the assistance of Masato Kamata, who will be the director and composer of music in the play.
Legacy Of Yona of the Dawn Franchise And Fan Reactions
The history of this particular franchise dates way back to August 2009, when the original manga of the series was released. This was followed by an animated adaptation which was released later in October 2014, as stated before.
The plot of the series is quite intriguing, as it follows the story of Yona, the main protagonist, who gears up to fight for the rights of her kingdom with the help of many others around her. The series has a fan base that has been asking for a second season ever since, and this was their reaction to it getting a musical stage play adaptation.

Unfortunately, the musical play scheduled to be enacted in the coming month of July is all the fans of the franchise have going on for them right now.
