Avatar: The Last Airbender, Netflix’s recent live-action adaptation based on the popular cartoon of the same name has been somewhat of a hit so far. Receiving mixed reviews, it has understandably not been faring as well as the original did, yet fans and critics have been appreciating the efforts and the cast members’ performance.
Among the cast, Gordon Cormier, aka the lead who plays Aang has been receiving the most praise for his portrayal. And his performance has earned him a fan in none other than the star of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown. The actress recently shared a sweet message for the cast of the Netflix series and called Cormier a mirror of herself.

Millie Bobby Brown is among the most famous young actresses today. Starting as a child actress, the British star went on to earn critical acclaim for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things. Having earned quite a few nominations for her role, Brown has gained widespread acclaim as well as a huge fan following ever since the Netflix series first aired.
And now, the young actress seems to see her own journey of being a child actor starring in a Netflix series to where she is now in her fellow Netflix star, Gordon Cormier. Cormier, who is the lead in the live adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, is just 14 and has been so far receiving positive reviews (see The Guardian and The Wrap). And while sharing a sweet message for the entire cast of the show, Brown stated to Cormier (via X),
“So Gordon, you and I have walked a similar path, haven’t we? Cast at 12 years old, the hero of our stories, getting by in a world we really don’t know. We can make things move without touching it, and, oh yeah, shaved our heads for the part.”
Adding on that she understands what the young cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender might be feeling since she has been where they are right now, the Enola Holmes star wished them all the best. While the rest of the cast thanked Brown for her message, Cormier seemed absolutely speechless, a reaction fans have been loving.
