Since the series is a satire on the real-world, naturally, some elements of truth were borrowed from the real life too. One of these iconic dialogues took place between The Deep and a writer who allegedly doesn’t “get paid sh*t”.
Chace Crawford And The Boys Took A Stand For Writers of Hollywood
It only feels like yesterday when the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA Strikes were taking place all over the Hollywood. From halting productions to canceling projects, the gist of the strike was that the writers of the show weren’t getting paid enough.

Taking that inspiration to heart, the season finale of The Boys spoke out against this practice by only addressing it. Suffice it to say, the article below contains spoilers for the season finale of The Boys.
Antony Starr’s iconic portrayal of Homelander had Chace Crawford’s Deep running around and killing everyone who had dirt on Homelander at Vought. One of these instances was when a writer named Evan Lambert was running for his life.
The writer is stopped in his tracks as The Deep says that he is on the kill list. What happens next is an iconic dialogue by The Deep that humorously raises awareness for the unfair treatment that writers were going through.
“I can pay you” says the writer while raising his hands. The Deep replied “You’re a writer. You don’t get paid sh*t” as he crushes his skull in.
Chace Crawford, known for portraying the role of The Deep, is also famous for having some intimate scenes with an Octopus named Ambrosius. Well, Crawford has some hilarious stories to share about it!
From revealing Black Noir actor’s secrets to having intimate scenes with Ambrosius, Chace Crawford’s The Deep has always been upto some trouble throughout The Boys. However, what he didn’t know is that Tilda Swinton voiced the role of the octopus!

However, fans seemed to notice that the voice of Ambrosius was quite familiar. Chace Crawford and the world was shocked to learn that the octopus was voiced by Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton!
In an interview with CinemaBlend, Chace Crawford was all praises for Swinton for portraying a role such as this!
When they said that Tilda Swinton was doing it, I just started crying laughing because she must have a great sense of humor to want to come and play with us in this insane scene and give life to Ambrosius, finally. And it makes the scene so much funnier and real.
For those unversed, Tilda Swinton is an Oscar-winning actress known for her role in the 2007 film Michael Clayton and being the Ancient One in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
On the other hand, the world will now have to wait for some more years before the next season of The Boys drops.
With 4 (completed) seasons to its name, The Boys is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.
