His adorable bond with his wife Amal Clooney has been captured by the media over the years. However, one dangerous incident that almost got him killed, led to his wife banning him from ever driving a motorcycle again in life.
George Clooney Was Banned from Riding Motorcycles After a Freaky Accident
George Clooney is known in Hollywood for his dedication and love of filmmaking. But in 2018. he almost died while doing what he loved most. During the production of his Hulu series Catch-22 in Italy, he was struck by a car when he was riding a scooter and was rushed to the hospital immediately. Fortunately, the actor did not receive serious injuries.
The incident, however, led to his wife Amal Clooney putting a restriction on Clooney. In a conversation at the DGA theater, the actor revealed the circumstances behind the accident and also stated that his wife has now banned him from ever riding motorcycles again. He said, (via Yahoo)
“I’m not allowed to ride motorcycles. I got into a really bad accident. I hit a guy at 70 miles an hour on my bike. Got launched. And so that’s, I’m off of bikes. Grant’s off. We screwed up and our wives were like, ‘You can never get on a bike again.’“
His wife does not want Clooney to face another situation like this again and it is understandable why she banned Clooney from being on bikes. The details of the accident are indeed scary and Clooney might have died as he was thrown off his scooter. Luckily, the actor was able to cheat death and survive a horrible accident.
George Clooney and Brad Pitt Made Sure That Wolfs Gets a Theatrical Release
Many years after they collaborated on the Ocean’s Trilogy, good friends George Clooney and Brad Pitt are reuniting yet again in the upcoming thriller Wolfs. The film will see the two actors play professional fixers being hired for the same job. Being producers of the film, the two actors sacrificed a huge pay for the benefit of the film.
In an interview with Deadline, Clooney revealed that Apple had won the bidding war for the film and offered a big paycheck to both of them to star in the film. However, the two actors agreed to cut down their fees so that it receives a theatrical release, to which Apple agreed. He said,
“Yeah. Brad and I. It was an exciting time because it got to be one of those weird bidding wars which happen every once in a while, and it ended up being pretty extreme, and Apple came in with a really big number for Brad and I, and we said we’d like to take less as long as we can guarantee that we can have a theatrical release, and they said great. So, I do think that there’s a way that we can all co-exist.”
The film is written and directed by Jon Watts who made Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy. In addition to Clooney and Pitt, the film will also star Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan. Wolfs will be released in theaters on September 20, 2024.
