Ryan Gosling expresses his disappointment after Margot Robbie did not get a nomination for Best Actress

The nominee list for the 96th Academy Awards was released recently and the list has continued to disappoint the fans of the epic fantasy comedy movie, Barbie which was also highest grossing movie of last year. The lead actress and the director of the movie, Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig did not get a nomination in the categories of Best Actress and Best Director which has disappointed a lot of fans.

Ryan Gosling who portrayed the role of Ken in the movie was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award but the actor has expressed his frustration for his co-stars missing the nomination list in a recently issued statement. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gosling said,

“I am extremely honored to be nominated by my colleagues alongside such remarkable artists in a year of so many great films…But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally celebrated film. No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit and genius. To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.”

In the video, the late singer said,

“You cannot lie because the only thing that can touch a mass of people is the soul, cause the soul can’t lie. Now when you start to deal with the mind, the mind will negotiate. It’s like yeah, that’s why they say your first instinct is correct.”
