When it comes to combat sports, who doesn’t like to see a good fight between real-life rivals? Two guys who want to rip each other’s heads off because they do not get along for whatever reason. As fans, that is what we want. As soon as Dwayne Johnson got back in the wrestling game again, we were all eager to see him and his real-life rival in the ring. And for that reason, the WWE must move forward with The Rock vs. John Cena, which is the match that we all crave.
Well, there is real animosity between these two guys. They actually kind of hate each other, which is why the promos for their WrestleMania fight scenes have been so incredible. Remember the moment at WrestleMania when The Rock made a threat to rip Cena’s throat out as they squared off in the ring?
In particular, Cena’s response to The Rock’s altercation seemed sincere. After seeing the heated segments again, fans—even after a few years—are completely convinced that their rivalry was ‘not fake’.
WWE Fans Are Convinced That Dwayne Johnson’s Threat Against John Cena Was Real

Rock got pissed and didn’t have any comeback lines so just mentioned his weight and height and then Cena even wrote those down his wrist to say it back. Cena was a menace 😭

Dwayne Johnson’s Trust Was ‘Violated’ by John Cena?
Amidst the intensifying accusations and tensions, John Cena and Dwayne Johnson developed a feud, with the former accusing The Rock of quitting WWE to pursue a glamorous career in Hollywood. Cena could not help but think back on his earlier remarks and the irony that transpired as he also established himself as a major actor.
According to Variety, Cena said at the WWE’s 2023 Fastlane event press conference that he could “100% see and understand” why some people would think he was a hypocrite for criticizing Johnson for switching from professional wrestling to acting and then continuing down a similar path.
“If you’ve been following what I’ve tried to do, especially as of late, publicly and personally to Dwayne Johnson, I’ve stated that although I thought I was trying to do what’s best for business. I went about it the wrong way. I violated his trust and I made allegations about his perspective that I knew nothing about. And deep down, I was a fan…”
There will always be doubters in the professional wrestling industry, but fans are certain that Johnson and Cena’s WWE feud is more than just a publicity stunt.
As the world of wrestling continues to change, it’s becoming more and more difficult to discern between scripted events and real conflicts. Thus, this causes fans to look forward to the next chapter of Johnson and Cena’s gripping rivalry. Till then, let the hype and speculation continue to keep us glued to the engrossing world of the WWE.
