The beloved show of America, which became huge due to its unique humor set in mundane situations and social conventions, easily became the greatest sitcom of all time. With an amazing cast and extraordinary piece of writing that brought phrases like “yada yada yada” into popular discourse, the show has certainly left the viewers yearning for more. But the shows creator Jerry Seinfeld believes nobody can ever top the legendary success of his most hit sitcom.

“We killed ourselves to make those shows as good as they were. We weren’t just hanging around. People always say, ‘Why don’t you do another sitcom?’ I think, ‘If I could do another sitcom that good, yeah, sure, I’d do it.’ You can’t. I can’t.”

While the 75 million viewers are disappointed over this, there is little we can do when the show’s creator believes he cannot top the significant mark Seinfeld left on television history.

All shows must end at some point in time or the other. But the surprise comes when makers decide to end shows with the highest ratings and millions of viewers. And so happened with Seinfeld which abruptly ended in its ninth season. Jerry Seinfeld explained he decided to end America’s no. 1 comedy show with a whooping 75 million viewership because of The Beatles!

“We just ended the show. I did the show for the people watching it, and I didn’t want them to say, ‘That show was great in the beginning, but…’ The Beatles created something that never trailed off. What a gift that was to their fans. If you’re into the Beatles, you loved them from beginning to end.”

Inspired by the Beatles he believed it was better to let go when the show was still at large than to let go when the popularity would eventually decline. He wanted to leave the viewers with only good memories and memorable laughs than look behind and regret the show losing its pull.
