Jason Momoa’s Children Are Not Allowed to See His Earlier Work

Speaking to Australian radio show Fitzy and Wippa, Jason Momoa opened up about his stance on his children Lola and Nakoa-Wolf, whom he shares with ex-wife Lida Bonet, watching his movies and shows. And the actor has set strict boundaries regarding which of his projects his kids are allowed to watch.

Describing his children as his “biggest fans,” Momoa shared that they are only allowed to see his recent work in movies like Dune, Sweet Girl, and Aquaman. “They got to see a lot of stuff that Papa’s been doing,” he said, as per Entertainment Weekly.

However, the father of two asserted that they can only “see the new things,” explaining that his initial projects like Baywatch Hawaii and Conan the Barbarian are not even brought up in conversations at home. “We don’t say the B-word at home!” Momoa said as he explained,

“The earlier things in my career, you can’t see that—We hide all of that mate! Never happened mate!—There’s stuff that you just… they can’t watch Conan [the Barbarian]”

Released in 2011, Conan the Barbarian featured Momoa in a role previously portrayed by action star Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, the 2011 film was heavily panned by critics and was a box office bomb, a potential reason why Momoa does not want his children to see the movie.

In a conversation with GQ, the actor 44-year-old actor shared his candid thoughts on his career, admitting that he has been part of projects that “really sucked.”

And he described the 2011 film as one of them. “Conan [the Barbarian] was one of them,” said. The Slumberland star further shared, “It’s one of the best experiences I had, and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of sh*t.”

The film not only received negative reviews from critics and audiences but also went on to be a box office failure, making only $63.5 million on an estimated budget of $90 million. However, its failure did little to hinder Momoa’s career trajectory, as he continues to enjoy success and acclaim in the industry.
