George R.R. Martin is currently hard at work completing his next epic novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire series called The Winds of Water. He has been constantly updating fans about the progress of the book and it has already been 12 years since he started writing the book.

Fans have been criticizing the writer for taking too long with the book and now Martin is addressing those fans in his latest update regarding the book. He said, (via Culture Crave)

“I’ve been working… I’m 12 years late with ‘Winds of Winter,’ … I’m just going to put it right out there, you guys don’t have to pester me about it”

Earlier this year, he wrote in his blog that he has been making steady progress with the book by saying,

Although he is taking a rather long time than his other books, he is only doing that in order to produce a highly satisfying work that will fulfill everyone’s desires and give a cathartic experience to its readers.
