Henry Cavill is known for many things in the film industry. He is known for his talent, his ability to blend into any role, the unjust behavior of the industry towards him, and, from a more objective and surface-level perspective, his good looks. It is the former out of all them that got a lot of attention in 2013, after the release of the trailer for Man of Steel. The world could not fathom his beauty and loved to talk about it at every given opportunity.

Naturally, the topic was brought up frequently during the press promotion of the film. No one would expect Cavill to be hated, simply because of his popularity. However, an interviewer said exactly this to the actor during a conversation, and his reaction is priceless.

Henry Cavill Stirred Hatred In An Interviewer

During an appearance at Comic Con, Henry Cavill gave an interview (via love_kirby_from_asgard) where he was informed about quite an interesting problem that his interviewer was having. It would seem that the actor’s appearance in the Man of Steel trailer had created some very extreme standards for the interviewer by his wife. He revealed that she wanted him to look more like Cavill and asked him to also get into shape like him.

It is safe to assume that the actor had to work very hard to achieve the physical prowess of Superman. On top of months spent in the gym, he had to completely change his lifestyle and eating habits. Not everyone can achieve the same effect, and the interviewer seemed to understand this.

You’ve made it really difficult for me at home with my wife. She keeps seeing the trailer and she’s like ‘You really need to get in that kind of shape.’ So yeah! I’m hating you right now.

However, he made a somewhat daring move and joked that he hated the actor for creating such a standard for him.

Henry Cavill—The Motivational Speaker?

While many would get upset at such bold words, the same was not the case for Henry Cavill. Instead of looking at this confession as an opportunity to be offended, he looked at it as a chance to motivate the interviewer. The actor told him to jump on the bandwagon and join the gym and wellness life study. When the journalist complained that it was really hard and challenging, he had a reply ready.

Cavill mentioned that initially, the gym lifestyle is very hard. However, once he gets into it, the challenges are worth the reward. He mentioned that making a habit out of it helps turn something intimidating into something actually fun.

Go for it though. Do it. Do it. Get on the bandwagon. It’s fun. Yeah it is hard but once you get going, there’s nothing more rewarding. There really isn’t.

It is safe to say that being personally motivated by Henry Cavill to go to the gym is an individual and life-changing experience.

Man of Steel is available for streaming on Netflix.
