In the Netflix series Cobra Kai, Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz, portrayed by Jacob Bertrand, goes through various character developments. He starts as a supporting character in Season 1, becomes the secondary antagonist in Season 2, a tertiary antagonist in Season 3, a major protagonist in Season 4, and returns as a supporting character in Season 5.
Recently, Jacob Bertrand, known for his role as Hawk, had a delightful encounter with the cast of One Piece in South Africa. He met the real-life Straw Hats, including Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Jacob Romero (Usopp), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), and Taz Skylar (Sanji).
They explored the set together, with Bertrand even trying out Sanji’s kicks. However, during their time together, Jacob Bertrand shared something about Zoro, which upset Iñaki Godoy.
Cobra Kai Star on Netflix’s One Piece Set
In a video (Cobra Kai’s Jacob Bertrand Visits the Set of ONE PIECE) posted by Netflix: Behind the Streams on YouTube, Jacob Bertrand made a confession that upset the pirate captain. He mentioned something about the swordsman of the crew. He said: “We guys all familier with One Piece. You guys booked the role in now.”
In response, Zoro actor Mackenyu Arata said: “Yes, I was. Yeah, I grew up with One Piece, I’m Japanese. So, Yeahh!”
Further, the Cobra Kai star confesses that: “I’m Sorry, But Zoro is my favorite character. I just love him guys, I’m Sorry.”
After hearing that Jacob’s favorite character is Zoro, Iñaki Godoy, who portrays Luffy, said: “Jacob, You just broke my heart man! You just broke my heart.”
He was clearly not upset; he simply made the statement in a humorous manner. After their enjoyable and engaging conversation, Godoy and Bertrand visited the One Piece set.
Jacob Bertrand and Iñaki Godoy Recreated a Scene from One Piece
On the set of One Piece, they visited Garp’s Warship and then Strawhat’s Going Merry. There, Jacob and Godoy talked about the Gomu Gomu No Mi Fruit powers:
How do they do like the Gum Gum powers? Like if someone standing thirty feet away and you just punched the air and they wait like five seconds and go Aaaaaaaaa!
Godoy also concurred with him, stating, “Pretty much….” Then, they together created a comical scene in which Godoy pretended to use the Gum-Gum pistol on Bertrand. It was quite amusing to watch them.
Both One Piece Live adaptation and Cobra Kai are available to watch on Netflix.
