While he may be one of the most recognized people in the Hollywood industry, for both his famous and infamous actions in the business in recent years, Will Smith is not the only one who commands such reverence and fame from this family. In fact, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith along with their children Jaden and Willow Smith are just as equally impressive as their parents.

The whole family, along with his son Trey Smith, who he had with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino, are just as creatively diverse as they are close to each other. Among his children, Jaden Smith is the most popular for his role in the 2010 reboot of The Karate Kid. Seeing this success, the star wanted to recreate it, but this time, with his daughter, who had an emotional message to give to her father.

From his oldest son Trey Smith, who is an amazing actor, to his children Jaden and Willow Smith, who are talented actors as well as amazing singers, along with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, everyone possesses that creative mind that the star can be proud of. But in showing that talent to the world, it seems like Smith missed the fact that he was also his daughter’s father.

In a past conversation at Philadelphia’s Temple University [via ET], The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star talked about how her daughter had made the decision that she was going to drop out of her then-upcoming film Annie. The reason for this was that she was way too stressed out being in the spotlight at the age of 12 when the film was set to release.

In an attempt to give her a chance like how Jaden Smith got with The Karate Kid, Smith was pushing her daughter for the same. Here, Willow Smith also said something to him that put things into perspective. He said:

“Willow was supposed to be doing Annie, we got Jay-Z to do the movie, got the studio to come in and Willow had such a difficult time on tour with Whip My Hair and she said, ‘You know Daddy, I don’t think so,’ and I said, ‘Baby, hold up!’ I said, ‘No, no, no, listen, you’ll be in New York with all of your friends and Beyoncé will be there. You will be singing and dancing,’ and she looked at me and said, ‘Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12.'”

Therefore, to enjoy her younger days as a child and not a big child actor, Willow Smith took a step back from the limelight for a couple of years.

After it was confirmed that Willow Smith wouldn’t be part of the project anymore, the production went ahead and recruited Quvenzhané Wallis for the titular role of Annie. The film tells the tale of a young girl, who was abandoned by her parents at a very young age, and now lives a hard-bound life with her foster mother Miss Hannigan.

But her lucky stars look like they will turn in her favor when billionaire and mayoral candidate Will Stacks tries to become her guardian angel when he adopts her and brings her home, thus starting an emotional journey.
