Jennifer Lawrence is known for being a very free-spirited personality. She has an incredible sense of humor which has helped her become an iconic figure in media outside of her career as an actress. Having a reputation for kindness and acceptance, it is extremely surprising to find out that the Oscar-winning actress was spiteful towards Jimmy Fallon after he ruined her plans with Jennifer Lopez.
The actress made an appearance on Fallon’s talk show, where she confronted him about something that happened when the two were partying together at an event. It would seem that the two stars wanted to invite Lopez to dance with them, and the plan ended with Fallon leaving Lawrence stranded and the actress embarrassing herself in front of the singer.
Jennifer Lawrence Was Betrayed By Jimmy Fallon
Jennifer Lawrence spoke on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon about that night, stating that she and Fallon had been consuming a lot of alcohol and were not in their best state of mind. It was here that the pair spotted Jennifer Lopez and decided that they wanted to dance with her. They came up with a plan that they would approach her, do a 360-degree twirl, extend their hands, and ask her to dance with them.
“This is like ten Jello shots in and I’ve never done Jello shots.” She went on, “So we were dancing and we J.Lo and were like, ‘Well, we gotta get J. Lo to dance!’ So I was like, ‘We’ll do a spin, and then we’ll go, ‘Dance with us!’” When Lawrence actually did it, things were different.
They practiced the step a couple of times and then decided to approach the singer. Lawrence did the twirl and offered her hand, only to notice from the corner of her eye that Fallon had abandoned her and was nowhere in sight. Deciding to stick with her plan, the actress asked Lopez to dance with her.
“I do it, he’s gone, and it’s just me looking at J.Lo going, ‘Dance with me!’” She added, “She was like, ‘I think I’m just gonna observe.’ You made me look like a freak in front of J.Lo! Do you know what that feels like?”
The singer, turned off and confused by what was happening, did not know what to say to the drunk Lawrence. She decided to tell her that she was good spectating from the sidelines and watching others dancing.
Jimmy Fallon Has A Different Memory Of What Happened
While the entire situation does not paint Jimmy Fallon in the best of lights, it would seem that he remembers this night a lot differently. The talk show host told Jennifer Lawrence that things were a lot different from his own perspective. There was very loud music playing at this event that the actress did not remember and this ended up overwhelming the talk show host.
“Oh stop it. That’s not what happened. Here’s what happened, I know her manager.” He went on, “And I’m like, ‘Here’s the plan.’I turn around and as I’m spinning around I see her manager and he goes ‘No.’ I turn the other way.”
When he was halfway through the twirl, he saw that Jennifer Lopez was standing alongside her agent. He ended up looking in Fallon’s eye and nodding a ‘no’ to him, telling him to not do what he was about to do. The talk show host, taking the hint, twirled his way out of the situation and unfortunately, left Lawrence to fend for herself.
“Well, I wish her manager had warned me!” said Lawrence.
Jokingly, the actress added that she wished the agent had given her a warning too so that she would not have embarrassed herself in front of someone as successful and talented as Jennifer Lopez.
