The creator opened up that his viewers were indeed right because he did present wrong information and clarified that it was not “accidentally,” and Tomino-Sensei has opened up about their character dynamics and the homosexual tendencies linked to it.
In the fanbook of the show via AnimeNewsNetwork, Yoshiyuki Tomino opened up about his desire to bring out a “raw/carnal feeling” each time he showcased Amuro and Char in the same frame, “to the degree that you might wonder whether the two of them are homosexual.”
