John Krasinski initially offered the role of Evelyn Abbott to Emily Blunt

John Krasinski, the director of The Quiet Place and also the husband of Emily Blunt was in a complete ethical dilemma back in 2017. The Office actor had offered the role of Evelyn Abbott to his wife initially but Blunt turned it down. The couple appeared on The Graham Norton Show once and Blunt talked about her turning down the role at first. She said,

“We had just had our second child and I was about to do Mary Poppins so I was in a sort of general feeling of joy. I didn’t know if I wanted to go to the darkness of the pitch that he’d given me for this film.”

The actress made John Krasinski fire another actress to be in The Quiet Place

Emily Blunt had allegedly turned down the role of Evelyn Abbott before even reading the script for The Quiet Place. However, after reading the script, Blunt had a change of heart and asked Krasinski to be in the film herself. She said,

“You[John Krasinski] didn’t send her the script admittedly, she wasn’t sort of hired. Then I read the script and I was like ‘you need to call her and fire her’.”

Graham Norton even asked the couple if they are friends with that actress and Emily Blunt replied, “We are, until the movie comes out.
