Zendaya is pretty much okay doing intimate scenes in films and television series, but what makes her feel uneasy is when people specifically ask her about those scenes. Fans have witnessed kissing and love scenes in many shows, and they have become a very normal part of the business, but when it comes to Zendaya, there is an odd amount of attention.
The actress expressed frustration over this matter and claimed it is part of her work like everybody else. She also said it was not her first time doing these types of scenes.
Zendaya On Fans Always Asking About Her S*xy Scenes
Zendaya shared via Jake’s Takes on YouTube that she finds it quite bizarre how people keep asking about her intimate scenes in Challengers when she is an actress just portraying a role. She feels like there is a hidden agenda behind this motive, which she could not specify.
“I know, it’s very odd. I have no idea. I don’t know if it’s because they want it to be, like, a viral thing, I don’t know. But I have noticed that, with me specifically. I feel like other actors don’t… if it was somebody else here, you probably wouldn’t [have] asked that question.”
Performing intimate scenes can be tricky, but she noted that it is part of playing a character that has its own life. She could not pinpoint why a lot of fans want to make an issue about these types of scenes, but perhaps because many of them are not used to seeing her get paired up with other men.
“But yeah, it is a part of my job, and it is a completely normal part of the job despite, I think, maybe other people’s perception of our job. But yeah, it is odd. I’m like, this is weird!”
Challengers also stars Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, and follows Zendaya as Tashi, a tennis player turned coach who made her husband Art become a grand slam champion. When he was met with bad luck and started losing, he entered a challenger event. Art discovers he will be playing against Tashi’s ex-lover.
Zendaya Reacts To Her Family Watching Her Intimate Scenes In Challengers
In an exclusive interview via ET Online, Zendaya shared her reaction when her family got to watch the steamy scenes in Challengers.
“They’ve all seen Euphoria, you know, so it’s not like our first rodeo or anything. It was funny ‘cause, you know, obviously I’ve seen the movie many times so I know what’s coming, and they were all sitting behind me, and I got to, like, watch them watch and slowly just be like, ‘Oh god.’ It’s still enough to not want to watch with your aunt.”
The actress still feels very uneasy whenever her folks get to see her intimate scenes on the big screen, but as she said earlier, it is part of the job and the public should not make a huge fuss about it.
