The tale of twin sisters scheming to reunite their separated parents was a massive hit in 1998! Everyone who experienced The Parent Trap at a young age was equally shocked upon discovering that there were no actual identical twins involved. Lindsay Lohan, who was 12 years old at the time, skillfully tricked thousands of fans into believing she had a twin. As it turns out, even the Disney CEO was among those fooled by Lohan.

During her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show to celebrate her comeback to the cinema after a long long hiatus, and that is where the actress chose to share a delightful story. She revealed,

“At the premiere, Michael Eisner, who was at Disney at the time, he said, ‘Where’s your twin?’ … I was like, ‘I don’t have a twin. You should have paid me double!’ I will never forget that. I actually said that!”

During the interview, Lohan discussed her other hit movie, Freaky Friday, and her relationship with Jamie Lee Curtis. The two are absolute best friends and, surprisingly, are still in touch. Lohan revealed that she turns to Curtis when she needs advice. Just like the film, their bond off-screen also resembles a mother-daughter duo. She said,

“Jamie was a big mentor to me. I think I was turning 17 and girl things were happening and I was on set, and I needed her to go to, and she was just really there for me and she’s still like that, I still look up to her and I ask her for advice sometimes.”

Further into the conversation when being asked whether she would be down for a Freaky Friday sequel she revealed she absolutely is. And lo and behold Disney confirmed Freaky Friday 2 in May 2023, marking a two-decade return since the original. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are set to reprise roles in the anticipated sequel, with a script in development by Elyse Hollander.
