However, Stallone fans were left stunned when an event featuring the actor charged an exorbitant amount for a selfie with the Rocky star. In 2019, an event charged fans nearly $1000 for a single selfie with Stallone, which drew quite some backlash and hilarious remarks from the fans. Here is how fans reacted to being charged $1000 for a simple selfie with Stallone.

An Exclusive Event Featuring Sylvester Stallone Charged Fans $1000 For a Selfie With the Star

In 2019, Sylvester Stallone was preparing for the release of his last film in the Rambo franchise. Stallone was scheduled to attend an event in London to promote Rambo: Last Blood. The event dubbed “An Experience With Sylvester Stallone,” was organized by the company An Experience With, between August and September 2019, over three days.

The event included a live stage interview with Stallone where he would talk about his career and upcoming film, followed by a three-course dinner. It also offered fans a chance to bid on signed memorabilia and take pictures with Stallone. While the ticket prices started from £125, the package that included a selfie with the Rambo star cost an astounding £849, which is roughly $1000.

After seeing the price of the selfie, fans were quickly surprised by the absurdity of the charges since Stallone, like most other celebs, took selfies for free during public appearances.

“It’s a shame you’d need to sell a kidney to go.”

A fan jokingly made the above comment on the event’s Facebook page (via The Sun). However, the event organizers justified the sky-high price for a selfie with Stallone by pointing out that the event was exclusive and only about 150 guests would be allowed to take selfies with the actor. Nonetheless, most fans thought the price tag was simply too high.

A similar event was organized in Los Angeles in 2022, at the Fairmont Hotel. An Experience With Sylvester Stallone event in Los Angeles was only for one night and allowed fans to listen to Stallone talk on stage, share dinner, and click photographs with the actor.

Once again, the event charged fans a hefty sum, roughly between $750 to $1,250 for spending the evening with Stallone. However, according to a report from TMZ, some of the fans were left heartbroken and disappointed when Stallone left the event without clicking pictures with them as they were not only promised but had paid for it.

The event organizers later revealed that Stallone had to leave the event early as he was not feeling 100%. However, in the aforementioned report, a source revealed to TMZ that the organizers had simply overbooked the event and the Rocky actor was not at fault.

The source claimed that Stallone left after spending the time he had committed to the event. The report also stated that the organizers promised a full refund to fans who were left stranded by Stallone’s exit. Nonetheless, the event serves as a cautionary tale for fans paying large sums to interact with their favorite celebrities.
