“You’ll See”: Iron Man Robert Downey Jr’s Warning in Avengers: Endgame Exposes His Connection With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania?

A popular theory that is making rounds of the internet for the past few times states that Iron Man already knew about Kang in Avengers: Endgame. The Robert Downey Jr character was always shown to have a sense of knowledge of what was going to happen. The theory that Tony Stark had prior knowledge about the future big bad of the MCU shows that he might be more integrally connected to The Multiverse Saga than we thought.

Ant-Man 3 is going to be the first appearance of Kang the Conqueror who will now have a long path to cover in the MCU. Soon after the trailer of it was released, the fandom went into a discussion about how Iron Man knew everything all along.

Did Iron Man know about Kang in Avengers: Endgame?

Tony Stark’s character in the MCU has always been portrayed as a genius who was always a step ahead of others. Even though he sacrificed himself for the greater good in Avengers: Endgame, Iron Man is expected to have a major connection with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

According to several theories, Tony Stark knew about the appearance of the time-traveling tyrant before sacrificing his life to save half of the population. Endgame saw our favorite heroes pulling off a time travel feat to pick up the infinity stones even before Thanos to save the world from the Mad Titan. But things turn interesting later in the movie when Iron Man warns Captain America and Thor about the repercussions of their time travel.

“When you mess with time, it tends to mess back. You’ll see.”

Here some debate might rise that the Robert Downey Jr character said this about a younger version of Thanos appearing in the movie. But it presented us with a clear picture of all the trouble that’s going to unfold in the future. With the Multiverse Saga dwelling deep into the complications of time travel, variants, and multiple universes, Iron Man’s potential warning about the emergence of Kang makes quite a sense.

Kang the Conqueror looks like a promising successor to Thanos

After the Mad Titan wreaked havoc in The Infinity Saga, the Kevin Feige company was in a need of a deadlier antagonist for the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. They picked up the time-traveling iconic character from the comics to unfold a crazier future for the MCU. After introducing us to one of his variants in Disney+’s Loki, we will get the first look at the villain in his prime form in Ant-Man 3. 

The MCU has already established that The Multiverse Saga will be integrally connected to multiple facets of time travel. Even in the new Ant-Man 3 trailer, we can see Kang as an entity who can shatter timelines and can create an absolute mess. This even makes more sense to Iron Man’s words.

Besides, He Who Remains from Loki and the upcoming Kang from Ant-Man 3, we might see several versions of Kang the Conqueror throughout this saga. This only adds up to more pain for our heroes who will surely not going to have a pleasant time with the Jonathan Majors character. Some sources also cite that Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man can make a return in Avengers: Secret Wars. But it is all rumors as of yet and more confirmed reports are expected soon.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be released on February 17, 2023, while Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is slated to release on May 2, 2025.
