Vincent D’Onofrio has intimidated the audience with his Marvel villain persona of Kingpin. Not just the audience, according to Jon Bernthal, the Kingpin actor did not even hesitate to confront the Marvel executives with a Kingpin-like attitude. During the recent episode of his podcast, The Real Ones, The Punisher star shared the incident with his guest and comedian Sarah Silverman and shared his experience working with the Death Wish actor.

He also talked about the time he was praised by the Daredevil star and how the Kingpin might not be a big fan of the MCU for constantly messing up its stories.

Jon Bernthal Recalls Vincent D’Onofrio’s Intimidating Attitude

Jon Bernthal had the opportunity to share the screen with the Kingpin actor, Vincent D’Onofrio, in the second season of Daredevil. And during the recent episode of his podcast, The Real Ones, he recalled working with D’Onofrio, and the Fury actor had nothing but praise for his co-star.

Talking to Sarah Silverman, he shared how D’Onofrio does not tolerate actors or people who don’t take their work seriously. As Silverman mentioned that the Law & Order star has no tolerance for actors who are not excellent, Bernthal recalled the time he worked with him.

“He’s so like, he’s so, if you are…an antithesis to what we are trying to do, like director, producer, if you are not part of the artistic journey, dude you are the f***ing enemy and he like, lets you know.”

He further added that D’Onofrio did not even hesitate to call out the Marvel executives while working on Daredevil. “I saw him like, just completely crumple Marvel execs on Daredevil,” he shared. The Accountant actor was so impressed by him that he even called him his “hero.” However, despite trying too hard, Bernthal is still unable to get the same attitude as the Marvel villain, Wilson Fisk.

Vincent D’Onofrio has already made his MCU debut with the Disney+ show Hawkeye. And will soon be seen in Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. While the current state of the MCU isn’t as pleasant as it used to be, fans can expect someone like D’Onofrio to stick to his Fisk-like attitude and point out the flaws in the MCU as well.

Vincent D’Onofrio Complimented Jon Bernthal

Jon Bernthal and Vincent D’Onofrio also featured in the 2001 drama Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Bernthal was overjoyed when Vincent praised his work. Considering that The Cell star never hesitated to call out one for their poor performance, the Ford v Ferrari actor was glad his efforts were noticed by Vincent D’Onofrio.

“D’Onofrio was on that [episode], and he sat down next to me on Criminal Intent, man… he told me I did a good job, and that s*it, that was huge.”

While The Judge actor is expected to return on screen with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Bernthal has not said anything clearly about his return as the Punisher in the MCU. Fans would surely love to see them back in action in future MCU projects.

Echo is expected to release in mid-2023.
