While the princess movies (mostly animated versions) that were released ages ago were highly loved and appreciated, it seems it’s not the same case with their real-life movie remakes. This includes the upcoming Snow White which features Rachel Zegler. Due to her recent comment on Prince Charming in an interview, where she called him ‘a literal stalker’, Zachary Levi’s Shazam 2 co-star has been facing much backlash from fans.

In a recent interview for the upcoming Snow White that went viral, Zachary Levi‘s Shazam! Fury of the Gods co-star Rachel Zegler seems to be caught up in much backlash following her unpopular opinion on Prince Charming, the dreamy male protagonist of every Disney princess movie. She can be seen saying,

“The original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so. There is a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird, weird. So we didn’t do that this time. An actor was hired for the film, Andrew Burnap, he’s a great dude. All of Andrew’s scenes could get cut, who knows. It’s Hollywood, baby.”

Furthermore, she also went on to reveal some key points about the 2024 version of Disney’s official  Snow White, which has received much more than mere disapproval from the audience.

“We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because we cast a guy in the movie. It’s one of those things that I think everyone’s gonna have their assumptions about what it’s actually going to be but it’s really not about the love story at all, which is really really wonderful. And whether or not she finds love along the way is anybody’s guess until 2024.”

In the movie, Rachel Zegler is portraying the innocently sweet character of Snow White, while Andrew Burnap will play Prince Charming and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will be seen as the princess’s evil stepmother.

Rachel Zegler‘s remark was certainly not well received by the fans, and the actress seems to be in a lot of controversy following her comment. Enraged fans have called the Shazam 2 star out on her remark, and have even asked her to watch the original movie first before talking all this about it.

Besides calling her a ‘walking PR disaster for Disney’, here’s what fans have to say:

The fantasy adventure Snow White is all set to be released in the United States on the big screens on 22 March 2024, though judging from the audience’s reaction, it seems highly unlikely that it would receive the attention it seeks.
