The stunning visuals, the amazing theme, and everything that the fans love about the director have been showcased in the trailer. Looking at the response to the trailer, the fans are certainly excited to watch the upcoming project by the director. However, as Snyder fans have always believed, DC movies have seen a significant downfall after the director left the studio. The recent movie, Blue Beetle‘s box office collection also hints at the same.
Blue Beetle struggles at the box office
The Xolo Mariduena starrer, Blue Beetle, introduced a new character, which James Gunn had announced would be the first character of his rebooted DCU. However, the movie did not live up to the expectations of the fans. Despite receiving mostly positive reviews from the critics and attracting a larger number of Latino audience, the movie only made $30 million on the opening weekend. It is said to be the lowest ever for a DC movie. It even failed to meet the projected earnings.
After the failure of Black Adam, Shazam! 2, and The Flash, it seems that Blue Beetle might be headed in a similar direction. While it is still not a movie that is a part of James Gunn’s DCU, but with the recent performances of Superhero movies in general, the reboot seems to be in danger.
As for Rebel Moon, the movie is set to release on Netflix on December 22, 2023.
