In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, the lead star of the show shared that she had a great experience working with the filmmaker. The Terminal actress also highlighted the intense and straightforward nature of the Yellowstone director, saying,

“It’s a great feeling. You really have to keep up. He’s a machine. He says everything that’s on his mind, very honest. But the same way he gives it he can also take it.”

Zoe Saldaña has shared that she was initially hesitant to accept Taylor Sheridan’s offer to star in the show. In her conversation with BBC Radio 1, she admitted to doubting herself. However, despite her uncertainties, the filmmaker had faith in the Guardians of the Galaxy star.

“I think that what I was having a hard time doing was believing in myself,” she said before adding, “I feel like in 2020 Taylor believed more in me than I believed in myself.” She shared that she was flattered to learn that he wanted to base the lead character on her.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Saldaña shared that a year later, she contacted him to learn about the show’s progress. However, he still had not cast the role and was waiting for her to accept the offer. It was then she decided to join the series.
