Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece has been working hard to achieve his dream of becoming the Strongest swordsman in the world. He has defeated some major opponents in the story who are deemed insanely powerful. However, he is still a long way from earning the title.

According to the narrative, if Zoro wants to accomplish his dream, he will have to defeat Dracule Mihawk, who is the strongest swordsman in the world right now. As of current strength levels, Mihawk is way above Zoro as he is not only insanely strong, but he also wields the only black blade in One Piece, thus making him the final boss in Zoro’s quest.

However, there is a theory that states that Zoro’s final opponent won’t be Mihawk. It will be his own death. And this theory is majorly supported by the fact that Zoro’s next opponent will be V. Nusjuro in the Egghead Island arc.

The King of Hell Roronoa Zoro

Zoro earned the title of the King of Hell during his fight with King, the second strongest member of the Beast Pirates, after Kaido. The battle took place in Onigashima during the Wano arc. Zoro after fighting multiple enemies and Kaido himself, faced King who posed as the biggest problem for the swordsman.

However, in order to fulfill his promise of never losing, Zoro unlocked Advanced Conqueror’s Haki and used the power of his newly acquired sword Enma to defeat King. He also used a new attack called “King of Hell, Three-Sword Serpent: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation” which was never seen before in One Piece.

The interesting element came after the fight when Zoro fainted because of exhaustion. As he fainted, he saw a large figure with a huge scythe-like weapon that resembled the Grim Reaper. Many One Piece fans believe that Zoro’s injuries were so severe that he had an encounter with death, but was ultimately brought back to life.

Zoro’s Final Opponent Will Be Death Itself

According to a theory posted by @TheHiddenIsland- on YouTube, Zoro’s final opponent will not be Dracule Mihawk, it will be his death. As stated above, Zoro already had an encounter with death(Grim Reaper) and now, his next opponent V. Nusjuro who also in a way resembles death, supports the theory.

One Piece recently revealed the Yokai forms of the Five Elders. St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro holds the power of Bakotsu Yokai, a skeleton horse who is believed to have been burned by fire to death. V. Nusjuro’s powers allow him to use Bakotsu link with hell and summon the icy slashes that can freeze his opponents.

Zoro himself has stated that until he becomes the Strongest swordsman in the world, death itself will not be able to defeat him. All these links indicate that he has some sort of connection with death, and “Zoro’s ultimate enemy is death” and he might have to defeat death if he wants to achieve his dream of becoming the Strongest swordsman in the One Piece world.
