Scarlett Johansson opens up about wanting to work with Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise will definitely go down in history as one of the greatest action stars of all time. The American actor is one of the most established stars in the industry and has won multiple accolades including 3 Golden Globes.
Scarlett Johansson worked alongside some of the biggest names in the industry in the comedy-drama film, Asteroid City last year. While appearing at the New York premiere of the film, the Black Widow actress opened up and revealed her wish to share the screen with Tom Cruise in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She said,
“I’d love to work with Tom Cruise.”
A week later while speaking to Entertainment Tonight while promoting Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, Tom Cruise was asked about his views on working on a project with Scarlett Johansson. Cruise revealed that he was down to make a movie with Johansson and also went on to praise Johansson for her acting skills. He said,
“I’d love to make a movie with her. I’ve been wanting to make movie with her. She is enormously talented. So charismatic, versatile. She has great physical ability obviously.”
It seems like Warner Bros Studio is all set to make these 2 mega stars appear on the screen together in the remake of Clint Eastwood’s The Gauntlet.
Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson might work together on the remake of The Gauntlet
A few months ago, Tom Cruise signed a deal with Warner Bros Studio. The details of this deal have not been revealed to the public. According to Giant Freakin Robot, Tom Cruise will be working on a remake of Clint Eastwood’s action-thriller film, The Gauntlet as a part of this deal. Cruise will allegedly be portraying the role of Detective Ben Shockley which was portrayed by Eastwood himself in the original film from 1977.
As if Tom Cruise working on a remake of The Gauntlet wasn’t big enough of a surprise, a veteran insider, MyTimeToShineHello took to X(formerly Twitter) and revealed that Scarlett Johansson will also be a part of the upcoming project.

Although whether Scarlett Johansson will be a part of The Gauntlet remake hasn’t been confirmed, if she ends up in the film, she will most likely portray the role of Augustina “Gus” Mally, whom Sondra Locke portrayed in the original movie.
Although The Gauntlet was a major critical success among the fans, the critics were not too impressed with the film because of its ending. The popular action movie became a massive commercial success as it went on to gross almost $35.4 million against a production budget of $5.4 million.
The Gauntlet is currently available for rent on Apple TV+.
