Haikyu!! recently released the movie Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle which proved to be a major hit. As the movie only had a Japanese release, the film broke most Japanese box office records and is still having a massive impact in theaters. However, fans from all over the world were disappointed because the movie did not get a worldwide release.
But to the surprise of fans, Crunchyroll has recently revealed that the film will be released in theaters throughout the world beginning May 30. The movie will be available in Japanese with English subtitles and will also be dubbed in English. While there is still time, for the movie to finally make a worldwide debut, there are other Sports Shonen anime, that fans can enjoy while waiting for the movie.
1. Kuroko’s Basketball
Kuroko’s Basketball is one of the best sports Shonen anime series in the world. With an IMDb rating of 8.2, the series follows the story of Tetsuya Kuroko and Taiga Kagami who share a love for Basketball and want the Seirin High School’s basketball team to become the best High School basketball team in Japan.
Along the way, they face the members of the strongest Basketball team “Generation of Miracles” and beat them individually to get stronger and achieve their goal. The series is quite similar to Haikyu!! and is extremely popular among sports anime fans.

2. Blue Lock
Blue Lock is a football-based anime series that recently made its debut in the anime world. Blue Lock tells the story of high school football players from throughout Japan who come together for a controversial project (Blue Lock) to produce the finest striker in the football universe following the Japan national team’s 16th-place finish in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The goal of the program, created by Ego Jinpachi, is to produce the best egotist striker in the world. Those who fail the Blue Lock training will never be allowed to represent Japan again. While Yoichi Isagi is the main character in the series, the narrative also charts the development of numerous other high school football players.

3. Run With The Wind
The plot of Run with the Wind revolves around Kakeru Kurahara, a brilliant but disturbed runner, and Haiji Kiyose, a determined college student who aspires to run the well-known Hakone Ekiden relay marathon. Haiji asks Kakeru to join his impromptu track squad at Kansei University after they meet by coincidence.
It is produced by the same studio that made Haikyu!! The anime delves into themes of enduring hardship as the squad learns to train, cooperate, and achieve their goals one by one.

4. Ace of Diamond
Ace of Diamond is a baseball-themed anime series that follows Eijun Sawamura, a pitcher with a peculiar pitching method that causes the ball to move unexpectedly at the plate. Scouts take notice of his talent, including the coach at Seidou High, who invites him to join a baseball program.
He and his squad aim to win the coveted national kōshien championship, a summertime high school baseball competition that is highly competitive. The series has an 8.2 IMDb rating and, like Haikyu!!, is regarded as one of the world’s top Sports Shonen anime series.

5. Hajime No Ippo
The plot of Hajime No Ippo centers on Ippo Makunouchi, a high school student who starts boxing and eventually wins numerous titles and fights against a variety of opponents. He receives training from seasoned combatant Mamoru Takamura as well as other boxers, who gradually learn that Ippo Makunouchi is hiding an incredible amount of muscle and a formidable physique which he developed while helping his mother in their fishing business.
Even if the animation may not be as amazing as Haikyu!!, Hajime No Ippo is the highest-rated sports anime on IMDb with an 8.8 rating, and it is regarded as one of the best Shonen anime series worldwide.
