After a brief appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase, Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment revealed new gameplay for this highly anticipated action RPG title.
The day after the presentation, the studio took advantage of the brand’s official podcast to provide a deep dive into what this awaited title will offer, which is apparently set to release sometime this year. One of the confirmed mechanics is also a significant feature in games like Baldur’s Gate 3. This kind of addition is very well received by the players.
Avowed Is Another Xbox Title That Understands What Fans Love
One of the most anticipated titles by Xbox is Avowed, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas, considered by some to be the best game in the series. In Microsoft’s latest presentation, the studio showcased new gameplay and later provided an extensive deep dive into all the mechanics the game will feature. Fans are really looking forward to trying the game.
One of the features presented in this extensive gameplay is very similar to the popular Baldur’s Gate 3. Obsidian’s game will include a mechanic called party camp, where players can talk and exchange dialogues with their party to improve relationships and get to know these characters deeply.
This type of feature enhances player immersion, making one care more about these characters and connect with their stories.
Obsidian Follows in the Footsteps of Baldur’s Gate 3
The studio also confirmed other features that will be part of Avowed, such as the ability to switch to third-person view at any moment, something that wasn’t clear in the revealed gameplay. The team behind the game admitted that it spent a lot of time perfecting combat animations to make it look more epic and provide a very fun experience for players. This adds to the animations of the weapons.
In the party camp, players can also improve skills, manage their equipment, and enhance it for the next big adventure. The development team also revealed that there will be a respect system, and if players are not at a sufficiently high level to defeat enemies, it will be much harder to overcome those battles. There will be various ways to overcome obstacles, making the game more dynamic with all sorts of possibilities.
Obsidian has also put significant effort into the interactions between party members, making it possible for them to argue among themselves. The studio aims to release the game sometime this year for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Game Pass.
