Baldur’s Gate 3 has got an amazing mod update, all thanks to a great modder, Hippoo0o, who has turned the game into a roguelike similar to Hades. Baldur’s Gate 3 offers multiple options to approach the game, with customizable tales, quests, romance, and endings adding to the replayability of the game.
People have done multiple runs of the game, with some of them having over 3500 hours on the game and the new mod might just hit the right nerve to extend the life of the game. This new mod, called Trials of Tav, offers 100 hours of gameplay, 200+ enemies, and 38 new maps.

In this new mod, you will progress from encounter to encounter, starting with nothing but the clothes on your back, and as you clear encounters, you’ll receive randomized loot that will make your party increasingly stronger. These encounters become progressively harder as you advance and increase your roguescore, which is a whole new metric to monitor your progress.
Hippoo0o announced the mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Reddit.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players looking for something exciting should definitely look towards this DLC-like mod that extends the game beyond imagination and gives an action-packed experience to all the players. Hippoo0o recommends that Honor Mode be used for runs to ensure an authentic permadeath experience. Additionally, the mod also works with multiplayer co-op, which is a great touch.
Trials of Tav is Pretty Simple to Access

Trial of Tav is relatively easy to download; Hippoo0o provided a link in his post that eases the process further. To download the mod, you will need Norbyte’s Script Extender and Mod Fixer. With all these installed, you will need to open the game to a new save file, and you will see a prompt, “Welcome to Trials of Tav! Start playing?” Select ‘Yes‘ and you are in.
It is not officially announced by Larian Studio whether or not this mod will be added to the official mod support directory of the game; however, it is confirmed by Larian that the functionality is in development and will arrive with Patch 7 sometime in September.
Hippoo0o’s recommended choice of difficulty is the Honor mode for a true roguelike experience with permadeath on in order to make things more exciting while you face challenging opponents in a reward-heavy battle, following hours of fresh content and gameplay.
