Baldur’s Gate 3 was a passion project for Larian Studios and its CEO, Swen Vinke, as they are known for creating various RPG games. They took their time in creating the game, but it was all worth the wait as it was one of the best games in the world. The game not only set a new standard for RPGs but also showed that RPGs are worth investing time and money in.

Larian Studios spent over 6 years creating the game and they left no piece unturned as they introduced motion capture and over 174 hours of Cutscene. The player choices also played a huge role in driving the narrative and ensuring that every path is connected; developers needed to test the game 18 times for one origin character.

This shows the dedication of the developers and their commitment to the franchise and RPGs in general. However, there were always people who doubted the game’s success or the path Larian was taking. As the saying goes, the Internet never forgets. One Reddit user, Nat1Only, proved that when they replied to the comment made by another user about the game. The comment was about how Larian Studio never finishes its games and is good at introductions and advertisements.

Guess you won’t be getting that thumbs up 🙂

Nat1Only didn’t forget his promise to reply to the comment of the blamer after 10 months. This shows that the game was able to deliver and even exceeded many players’ expectations. This also highlights the trust players have in the studio.

Larian Studios was able to meet and, in some cases, exceed player expectations from the beloved Baldur’s Gate series. They not only made the intro of the game remarkable but also made sure that the game was finished together with its character.

After delivering the game, surprisingly, the studio is now moving away from Baldur’s Gate Franchise. Swen Vincke and his teams want to follow their hearts and work on the project they have been thinking about for a long time. The details of that project are still shrouded with clouds but players’ expectations are very high.

In the end, not only Larian Studios was able to show they finished their games but also helped make the players look good in front of doubters. Let’s hope they continue to deliver like this on their future project.
