The news broke through prominent Call of Duty leaker @BobNetworkUK, who revealed that Verdansk’s return has been internally postponed.

Originally planned to coincide with Black Ops 6’s first season, the delay shifts the map’s debut to a later date.

Initially replaced by newer locales like Urzikstan and Fortune’s Keep, the map remains available on mobile platforms but has been missing from PC and console versions.

To compensate for this setback, Warzone’s Urzikstan will see significant updates alongside the game’s Season 1 launch. These updates promise gameplay enhancements, map revisions, and the introduction of Ranked Play, aiming to keep the community engaged until the map’s eventual return.

The decision has sparked mixed reactions within the gaming community. Some players express disappointment, citing the long wait and the map’s integral role in Warzone’s identity.

Others speculate that delaying the return could allow for a more polished return, potentially enhancing the overall player experience when it finally reappears.

Players can still expect ongoing support and additional features, including the rumored Resurgence map “Area 99,” scheduled for later in the game’s life cycle.

For many in the community, the delay comes as no surprise, given the intricate nature of content development and the competitive demands of the gaming industry.

Fans argue that such delays are becoming commonplace, particularly with legacy content updates requiring meticulous attention to detail and player feedback integration.

Despite the setback, the community remains optimistic about whats coming as the game gears up for a pivotal release in October 2024.

With this next release, Treyarch is trying to change it up not just within the franchise but within the first-person genre as a whole. This is represented by their introduction of the Omnimovement system.

This new movement system will allow players a level of freedom in movement that hasn’t been seen before in CoD. This includes including the ability to move and slide fluidly in all directions.
