James Gunn is currently busy with the production of Superman with David Corenswet playing the titular character. The film is set to be the lynchpin of Gunn’s DCU and will also introduce other heroes that will play a huge part in his universe. As the production is taking place in real locations, several pictures were leaked from the film.
After the leaked pictures of Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, new leaked photos of Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner and Isabella Merced as Hawkgirl have now surfaced online. Fillion sports a unique look as the character but fans aren’t impressed with it, as many compared it to a CW costume.

The upcoming Superman film directed by James Gunn promises to be a great start to the new DCU that Gunn is building with Peter Safran. As production on the film continues with full stream, fans are getting to see various facets involved in it through leaked set pictures. As expected, fans are mixed about how various characters are presented.
Recently, Nathan Fillion‘s Guy Gardner joined the shoot dressed in his complete look and gear as the character. Fillion is seen wearing a wig with a bowl cut and dressed in a jacket and striped pants with mostly white colors. Fans are not happy with this new look and are calling it cheap and of the level of a CW show.
Additionally, fans are also pointing out how Fillion’s Guy Gardner looks worse compared to the Green Lantern featured in Zack Snyder‘s Justice League (which he shot in his driveway). Here are some of the reactions on X,

Many other fans have also pointed out that no one knows the context of the image being circulated. Gunn and his team will surely enhance Guy Gardner’s suit with CGI to look the way the director has envisioned for the character. While the negative discourse will continue to persist, one hopes Gunn changes their minds when the official look drops.
Chris Pratt Expresses His Desire To Join James Gunn’s DCU Following Recent Set Visit
Chris Pratt and James Gunn have had a long working relationship together for over 10 years. They worked on the Guardians of the Galaxy films which were highly successful for Marvel. As Gunn is now developing his new DCU with Superman, Pratt recently got to visit the sets of the film and witness some scenes that were shot.
In an interview with TMZ, Pratt revealed that he would love to join Gunn’s new franchise but it all depends on the fans and Gunn to have him in his universe. While he is still Star-Lord in the MCU, playing in both sides would be an exciting opportunity for him. The actor said,
Yes, of course. I just have to leave that to the fans and people like James to decide. I’m not exactly sure. I’m truly not sure. If it could fit into my schedule and it made sense, I would love it.
Of course, I love playing Star-Lord, and hopefully, there’s a chance that can come back. I just feel so blessed to be able to do any of it, to be considered for any of it. If it’s right and the fans would love it, I’d be more than happy to do it.
Gunn’s Superman will have a great ensemble cast consisting of David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, María Gabriela de Faría, Sara Sampaio, Skyler Gisondo, and Nicholas Hoult.
The film will hit theatres worldwide on July 11, 2025.
