Dune: Awakening, the upcoming open-world survival MMO from Funcom, is one of the highly anticipated titles and is expected to be released later this year or early next year. The game is set in Arrakis, as seen in the Dune live-action films, and fans are beyond excited to explore the desert.
The previews and trailers released so far have shown an amazing depiction of Arrakis. Although Dune: Awakening doesn’t have a fixed launch date, developers have constantly shown new things about the game, and fans are now getting more and more eager to get their hands on it.
Fans Are Already Pledging Allegiance to Get Dune: Awakening Early Access
Dune: Awakening developer Funcom recently attended the GDC (Game Developers Conference) and PAX East, where it showed some extended and raw gameplay of the starting minutes and more in-game content exclusively to journalists and creators present and got an amazing response.
The developer shared this on the game’s official X/Twitter handle with an image showing the beautiful golden desert and ornithopter with possibly a spice harvester, leading to fans getting more excited and asking to see more. They have some unique offerings in return for getting access too.

One fan inquired, “Whose feet I gotta tickle to get access to that content?” However, not all followed this, as another fan added, “It’s really peak.” Fans have also been pledging their allegiance, with one fan saying, “I have faith in y’all like I have faith in Shai-Hulud,” while another added,

Fans have appreciated the developers for everything they have seen of the game so far and are hoping that it turns out that well. While there is no information on the release date, the developers, in response to a user asking to see the gameplay, said that it will be shown “in due time,” so there still may be some time before fans get to see the gameplay.
Dune: Awakening Is Shaping to Be One of the Best MMO Titles
Everything that players have seen so far has impressed them and has got them thinking that Dune: Awakening will be amazing. The game has stunning graphics, a skill tree, vehicles, weapons, and much more.
The character creator is currently one of the most talked-about elements of the game and provides ample options for players. Players will be able to play the game by doing both PvE content and PvP content, which is good for Dune fans who may not want much to do with PvP.
According to the developers, a lot more content has also been planned to be added post-launch, such as more planets and a sandworm-riding feature, which will not be available at launch. The fans are excited, but they are also keeping realistic expectations in case the game isn’t what they have come to believe so far.
