With the arrival of the Shadow of the Erdtree, many Tarnished have been introduced to a plethora of new characters and stories. One NPC, in particular, has captured the hearts of players everywhere: Moore.
Donning hefty armor that might remind you of the Havel Knight, you might mistake Moore for an enemy at first glance. However, he quickly reveals himself to be a gentle, item-bearing vendor who only wishes for the success of his allies. Unfortunately, his story isn’t as gentle as his persona.
Moore, Everyone’s Favorite Shadow of the Erdtree NPC
Moore stands out among the many new faces in Shadow of the Erdtree due to his unexpected personality and genuine intentions. We all need an ally like Moore in the harsh and unforgiving Land of Shadow (emphasis on the unforgiving).
I love him with my Heart and Soul

He’s taken up the noble role of supporting Lady Leda and the Forager brood in the Land of Shadow by scavenging and selling essential items.
His shop has some great items that can ease some of the pain from exploring the new region in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Moore’s sweet and unassuming nature has quickly made him a fan favorite. However, it’s best not to get too attached, if you know what’s good for you.
Beware: It’s A Little Too Easy To Ruin Moore’s Fate
You first encounter Moore at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace, accompanied by Sir Ansbach, on the route to the Belurat Tower Settlement. He remains there until a significant event changes his fate: the breaking of a great rune, which also breaks a spell.
When you return to Moore this time, you’ll have three dialogue choices, each one affecting his fate. Unfortunately most, if not all, of these choices will end up in his death.
There’s a fourth, lesser-known way to decide his fate as well, and you guessed it: It ends in his death. It’s starting to feel like these NPCs had a better chance at living before they met us.
Don’t kill the Kindred of Rot you find sitting around the DLC (very minor spoilers)

At one point in Shadow of the Erdtree, you may come across Kindred of Rot that don’t attack. If you’ve made the mistake of killing them, Moore will become angry and invade you. Killing him will drop the same items.
While there are plenty of interesting NPCs to come across in the DLC, Moore and his heart-wrenching fate is one character that players will hold close to their hearts for a while.
Have you already set Moore’s fate in stone? If not, what are you planning to do with him? Let us know in the comments below.
