Spitz, a community manager on Discord, played a crucial role in solving this issue. This CM encouraged users to review-bomb the title to draw attention to the issue. After the entire situation settled, Spitz was fired, and now the players have made a petition to bring this employee back to Arrowhead.
The Helldivers 2 Community Keeps Fighting for What They Think Is Correct
Since its launch, one of the most popular games of the year has been in a very strange situation with its community. Helldivers 2 has a group of fans that are very passionate and vocal about the game; this means that in good or bad things that Arrowhead Game Studios does, they will always be vigilant. Few communities are as intense as this one, and after the last conflict, they will never be quiet again.
After the problem with Sony ended, the aftermath and fallout left some victims; one of them was the popular Discord CM Spitz. This employee’s involvement was critical to making the conflict escalate even more. Fans of the game and members of the community have now filed a petition on change.org to have Arrowhead Game Studios bring back this CM. Some of these players are very serious about this petition.
The Community Will Not Rest Until They Get Everything They Want From the Studio
In the petition created by Elcorvo Loco, the full conflict with Sony is once again described to let users know, and he said the following about Spitz: “ARROWHEAD: We implore you to return this icon to their previously held position in recognition of his bold Community Management strategy — which not only worked but restored the faith of much of your community.” Many members of this community acknowledge how this CM was key to winning this ‘battle’.
As of the time this article is being written, the petition has almost 7,000 signatures from different users who think this employee needs to be part of the company again. The petition also requests the inclusion of a General Spitz in the game to honor the hard work and sacrifice of this CM, which played a crucial role in convincing Sony to abandon its new PC game requirement. Fans of Helldivers 2 will now have their voices heard.
Johan Pilestedt, took to Twitter to test the waters with a survey asking players if they wanted the new Polar Patriots Warbond, or if they should delay it out of respect for the recent controversy. This new content will add weapons, armor, grenades, capes, and many other things to the game. Considering the release today, it’s clear fan-sentiment is far better with the game, and Helldivers 2 is still one of the most played games on Steam every day, with a solid 200,000-player count daily.
