Kevin Costner is gearing up for the release of the first part of Horizon: An American Saga. Among the ensemble cast, he included his son Hayes in the film. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the actor made it clear that he has not ‘shoved in’ his children in the industry.
The actor stated that he does not want to take away roles from talented actors by putting his children in their place. However, for this film, he wanted his son by his side for the week and inserted him into a minor role. Costner said,
I have not shoved my children into the business. I realize there’s so many young actors that would just kill to be in this movie and I don’t want to take those parts away from them just ‘cause I can place my own children in. But in this instance, it was a smaller part. I selfishly wanted him with me for the week, two weeks he was with me.
Interestingly, Costner named his character in the film as Hayes, in honor of his son. The first part of Horizon: An American Saga stars Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, and Isabelle Fuhrman. The first part hits theatres on June 28, 2024, and part 2 on August 16, 2024.
