Ninja Theory is all geared up for their upcoming game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. However, it seems like the gaming community is not hyped for it. Priced at $49.99, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II may seem like a rip-off for gamers since the game has a shorter runtime than its predecessors, and some believe that it will lack the replayability aspect.
People on social media have started to compare the game to Elden Ring‘s upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, because they fall in the same price bracket and it is safe to say that there is a lot of anticipation for it. In a way, this is an advantage for Ninja Theory as these discussions have slowly put the spotlight on Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
Gamers are not excited about Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
As we slowly approach the release date of Ninja Theory’s upcoming game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, it seems like there is not a lot of chatter about it. Recently, an X post went viral which compared the game to Elden Ring‘s upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. The post pointed out how both of them are priced at $50 and yet, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is underwhelming. Some fans agreed with it while some debated that almost every video game is like that nowadays.
I liked the first one quite a lot, but in that sort of "Well, that was neat," way. Didn't stick with me enough to generate hype for a sequel.

The first game is dog shit and 2 just looks the same. I have zero hype for it

I feel like Hellblade 2 will only be big for those who really liked the 1st game, whatever few there are. Idk about bringing in new fans, nothing I saw took my breath away.

We all know that opinion is subjective, not to mention that these two games fall into different categories and are set in completely different worlds.
It is to be noted that Shadow of the Erdtree will only be available for $50 when players purchase Elden Ring first.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II has a short runtime as Ninja Theory only wanted to focus on things they care about
Fans have been complaining ever since it was announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be roughly 9 hours long, mainly because the story lacks replayability and no one is willing to pay $50 for a game that will rot in the game library later. Various publications got the opportunity to try out the game for a short duration and it is safe to say that the initial impressions have been positive.
Dom Matthews, Ninja Theory’s head, once explained that they have refined the story by only focusing on things “they care about.“ The experience may be short but Matthews has assured gamers that it won’t feel like a cash grab because they have heavily focused on the worldbuilding, storyline as well as graphics.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is scheduled to be released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S on 21 May 2024.
