Taking to his threads account, while announcing the cast, Gunn also mentioned making his dream come true of finally working with Vince, after being mesmerized by his performance in a 1995 movie.

Celebrating Ma and Pa Kent’s anniversary on May 18, following their first appearance in Superman #1 on May 18, 1939, James Gunn took to his threads account to reveal the cast for the duo in his upcoming Superman. Waiting for months to disclose the cast on the auspicious day, Gunn announced casting Neva Howell and Pruitt Taylor Vince in the iconic roles.

While James Gunn is busy directing his highly anticipated Superman movie starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan in titular roles, the filmmaker took a moment to pay tribute to DC’s best parents. After Kevin Costner and Diane Lane led the roles in the 2013 film Man of Steel, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell are now set to take over the mantle.
