Gears of War E-Day is set fourteen years before the events of the original game and will take players back to Emergence Day. The game follows the story of the first Locust emergence on Sera.

The trailer shows when the Locust first make themselves known and we also get a look at young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. It can be seen as the origin story of the heroes and is the beginning of what follows in mainline Gears of War titles.

The game does not have a release date yet but it is being built on Unreal Engine 5. The  trailer looks amazing and The Coalition seems to be working hard to get things perfect as perfect as it can as it aims to deliver “unprecedented graphical fidelity.”

Fans are absolutely thrilled to get a new Gears game and have welcomed the title with open hands. Although the majority were hoping for a sixth mainline entry, they are happy that they get something, which is better than nothing.

There were a lot of leaks and rumors about the announcement of Gears of War 6 at the showcase. Prominent insiders claimed that the reveal is imminent at the Xbox Summer Showcase and but that hasn’t happened, and fans are sad but have said that they’ll still play this title.

The third-person shooter franchise is one of the most popular franchises out there and has a massive community. Xbox has banked big on the franchise and there had been a lot of talks about when fans would get the next entry but instead of the main installment, we have a prequel.

Gears 5 was released in 2019 and saw tremendous success with positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Many consider it to be the best game in the franchise and developer The Coalition would be looking to replicate that success and possibly surpass it with Gears of War E-Day before it focuses on the next title.
