One Piece fans were surprised when they found out that Brashaad Mayweather, the actor who plays the role of Patty in One Piece live-action, has confirmed that the series is filming season 2 and season 3 back-to-back. This means that along with the Alabasta Saga, the creators will also start working on the Sky Island Saga.

Initially, the Sky Island saga was generally skipped by One Piece fans because of its length and expandable storyline. However, since the release of the Egghead Island arc, fans have understood the importance of Sky Island, especially the Skypiea arc. The arc not only contains important hints for the finale, but it also contains one of the coldest moments from Vinsmoke Sanji.

The cook of the Straw Hat Pirates has a lot of memorable moments, but the most important scene that made fans fall in love with him was when he was able to withstand the attack from Enel, one of the strongest enemies the Straw Hat crew has ever faced. However, this scene might not be included in the live-action because of a major change.

A Major Change in Sanji’s Personality Trait

When the first season of One Piece live-action came out, fans were a little disappointed when they found out that the series was rated TV-14, as it would have forced the creators to remove some important aspects of the series, including Sanji’s smoking. His smoking is his signature habit that has become one of his personality traits.

When Sanji was introduced in the story, it was made clear that Sanji always had a cigarette in his mouth. No matter the situation, Sanji is always seen smoking. Whether he is fighting, cooking, or flirting with the female characters, he always has a cigarette in his mouth, and it has become so famous that even his lighter has become iconic among One Piece fans.

According to u/popalex123, Netflix made it clear that smoking in movies and series aimed at a younger audience will only be allowed for “reasons of historical or factual accuracy.” Thus, One Piece live-action is forced to follow the regulations set by Netflix and remove one of the most important traits of the chef of the Straw Hats.

One Piece Live-Action Will Rob Sanji’s Coldest Moment

As mentioned above, One Piece live-action is shooting season 2 and season 3 back-to-back. Thus, it is possible that fans may get the third season quite early after the release of the second season. The third season will focus on the Skypiea arc, which features the Straw Hats’ battle against Enel, who has the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.

Enel had an interaction with almost every Straw Hat Pirate, but the best exchange he had, though, was with Sanji when he used himself as bait to allow Nami and Usopp to get away. Many One Piece fans call it the ‘Nothing Happened’ moment of Sanji, referencing Zoro’s iconic sacrifice during the Thriller Bark arc.

Sanji was able to withstand the full power of the attack from Enel and acted as if he were unharmed. He made the moment even more cool by expressing the fact that the attack did nothing more than light his cigarette for him.

But because of Netflix’s guidelines, Sanji cannot smoke cigarettes in the One Piece live-action series, which will reduce the impact of the scene and rob Sanji of his coldest moment in One Piece history.

You can watch One Piece on Crunchyroll and One Piece live-action on Netflix.
