Every time there’s a new seasonal update in Overwatch 2, fans are worried if it’s purely cosmetic or a balance change that will ruin everyone’s mood. Fortunately, Season 10 changes that journey, and Mirrorwatch is a season with a lot of new changes that aren’t just limited to vanity.

The new season begins on April 16th, and drastically shifts how players experience Overwatch 2. From heroes to unlock (for free) to revamped gameplay abilities, the experience is going to be a welcoming change in the game’s ongoing narrative.

Say Hello to Mirrorwatch, a Game Mode That Shuffles Abilities

A new season with exciting content? Feels like a dream.

A new season in Overwatch 2 usually brings new heroes, skins and few balance updates. However, this time things are taking a larger turn. Mirrorwatch is a brand new game mode that shuffles your favorite heroes’ abilities, giving a new twist to how you would otherwise play the game.

That’s not all. There’s also the Clash mode that introduces a familiar setting to the new season. However, one of the key things to look forward to is how the Battle Pass system works now, and how heroes are unlocked going forward.

With the introduction of Venture, the new DPS hero, characters can now be unlocked for free, which is a pleasant surprise to the Overwatch 2 community. Not only does this bring new players to the game, it also gives older players to work towards earning better rewards, rather than spending all their time trying to unlock a new hero.

Even the new skins (along with old ones) will feel a bit more accessible now, given how previously the game was extremely expensive in terms of both money and time that went into earning new rewards. Is this the largest seasonal update for the game yet? Most likely. But, only time will tell.

Overwatch 2 Might Just Go back to Its Golden Days

The newest hero adds to the season’s charming themes.

Ever since the arrival of Overwatch 2, the community has been a bit broken about what the game has been trying to be. The tale started off as a potential PvE sequel to the game, but that was eventually canceled.

At the time of writing, the game is still finding its identity as a successor to one of the most loved online co-op shooters in gaming history. While certain heroes are still as enjoyable as they used to be, some just feel unplayable thanks to unexpected changes.

Fortunately, the new season seems to be in favor of experimentation, as quality-of-life changes are on the rise, and the latest hero feels balanced and not broken.

Overwatch 2 still has a long way to go, and more such seasonal updates will likely push the game in a better direction.
