After leaving the DCEU behind, Zack Snyder has been quite busy with his Rebel Moon franchise which already has two films to its name. The films revolve around a fictional galaxy ruled by something called the Motherworld. Rebel Moon sees Sofia Boutella in the lead role as she does a splendid job of bringing Korra to life. From the cast to the crew, Zack Snyder worked with brilliant people who were on the top of their game.
However, it seems like the filmmaker felt that there was still a piece missing from the puzzle. As it turns out, the missing jigsaw piece needed to complete the picture is none other than Patrick Tatopoulos, the Production Designer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Now, Zack Snyder is hoping his old friend would help him out on the third Rebel Moon film.
Zack Snyder Wants to Reunite with an Old Friend from the DCEU
While appearing for an interview with JON ALI TV, Patrick Tatopoulos revealed that Zack Snyder wants to once again collaborate with him for the future installments of Rebel Moon. Parting ways after Justice League, they both knew it was not going to be the end of their collaborations. The only question was “when” and “what”.
Tatopoulos recalled reuniting with Snyder on a panel where the filmmaker asked him to come and work with him on Rebel Moon. He went on to state that Snyder’s request made him feel elated and that they had always kept in touch with each other.
When Tatopoulos pointed out that two films had already been shot and the design was already established, Snyder told him that the Rebel Moon franchise was quite like Star Wars and had the characters entering different worlds.
He then added that Snyder proposed reworking the design completely since he maybe wasn’t too pleased with the work his designers had done on the first and second installments of the franchise.
Tatopoulos’ talents are well-known in the film industry. The man is responsible for the Batmobile, Batcave, and Flying Fox seen in Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. He has also served as the Production Designer for films like I, Robot, and Independence Day. It’s really no surprise that Snyder wants to work with him again.
Fans React to the Possibility of the Reunion
Upon hearing the good news, fans are quite excited that they’ll get to see a few more projects with Snyder and Tatopoulos’ names in the credits. Calling him a “legend” and the idea “awesome,” fans are wholeheartedly supporting this reunion, however, they have just one little request.
According to the fans, not only should Tatopoulos return to collaborate with Snyder, but also a few of his other friends from the past. This includes screenwriter Chris Terrio, cinematographer Larry Fong, and costume designer Michael Wilkinson. Terrio and Wilkinson have worked with Snyder on both BvS and ZSJL, whereas Fong has worked with the filmmaker on BvS and Watchmen. Wilkinson was also a part of Watchmen’s team.

Since Rebel Moon 2 has just been released, it’ll be a while before we get any updates on its sequel. However, after hearing Tatopoulos’ words, we cannot contain our excitement already!
