Hajime Isayama Shares His Opinion About House of the Dragon

In an interview with Crunchyroll during the Anime New York Convention last year, Attack on Titan’s creator was asked about what he thought of the popular HBO prequel series, House of the Dragon, as he is a Game of Thrones fan and has used it as inspiration for his own masterpiece. Isayama’s opinion about the series was quite positive.

He stated:

“I watched all of the first season and really enjoyed it. Even compared to the first season of the original Game of Thrones, it was well done. I like Aemond Targaryan. I think that character’s face looks really good as an actor.”

Isayama stated:

“I was watching it with my wife and she’s not really about the gore scenes, so she was looking away. And so she asked ‘Oh, what happened? [I said] ‘Oh, you didn’t watch it? Here, let me rewind it for you!’. She got really mad at me.”

Isyama explained that he watched the final season with his wife, and because she does not like gore scenes, she was looking away but was still interested in the story. As she was looking away, she missed an interesting scene and asked about it from his husband, who replayed the scene for her. Because of this, she got mad at him.
