Godzilla is coming back to Call of Duty with a new in-game event that will have some skins based on Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. This will bring several Kaiju-themed character skins, like Kong and Godzilla, and two new characters that will have an important role in the movie. Some players didn’t care about this and are not very happy with the new content.

Different Crossovers Don’t Seem to Appeal to the Call of Duty Community

XP boosts, new skins, and many crossovers. But some fans are still not happy with the new season of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty is going down a weird path; players are still playing the game, but with the numbers that the game needs, the Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 player count has been below average for a few years now.

The fans of this multibillion-dollar franchise had a lot of complaints about the content; things like hackers and cheaters invaded Warzone all the time, making the game almost unplayable. But Activision keeps betting on the IP; season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 will be out soon.

Godzilla will be one of the main characters in Season 3. The world’s most famous kaiju is almost ready to premiere Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. In the past, other movies about this titan were also collaborations with Call of Duty.

This new movie will have new enemies and kaijus that will have their own skins. But some fans don’t want the collaborations or the in-game events; they just don’t like these kinds of things in Call of Duty. Perhaps Activision will have to find another way to make all the fans satisfied with the game.

Is Activision Really the Problem? Or the Fandom is too Toxic?

The Call of Duty fans are not very easy to please; many are very on board about the collaborations; almost unanimously, fans love some crossovers like The Boys, so there is plenty of room for this kind of content in the game. Activision needs this kind of thing to keep players interested.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
