The character Lady Sif, based on the Norse goddess Sif, was developed by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Marvel comics in the 1960s. Outside of the comics, the character makes her first appearance in 2011’s Thor, played by Jamie Alexander. Further, the actress’s portrayal of Sif was so well received that she continued to play the role in the MCU for more than a decade, with her last appearance being Thor: Love and Thunder, which was released on July 8, 2022.
While fans were pleased to see the actress on the big screen again, some believed that her character should have been handled in a better way and had a few words of criticism for Taika Waititi, who helmed the fourth installment.
Jaime Alexander’s special request to Marvel that could result in a unique storyline
While the actress has been in the MCU as Lady Sif since 2011, her character has always been relegated to a supporting role. When Thor 4 was set to be released, fans were excited to see what the character had in store for them this time, but to their disappointment, the actress only had two minor scenes in the film and was sidelined for the entire time, leaving fans wondering why director Taika Waititi brought her in for such a small role.
However, the actress believes that a series based on her role may fill the void left by the movie. While speaking at this year’s Superhero Comic Con as shared by The Hollywood Handle on X, the actress expressed her desire for a Sif-inspired Disney+ series and added:
This is something my team and I have explored a little bit; my team and I have pitched a show with Lady Sif and Beta Ray Bill
Notably, this was not the actress’s first time coming up with such an idea, but it was surely wonderful news for her devoted fan base. One admirer expressed his excitement with a comment that read
Iโve been asking for more Sif since Thor 2

Taika did her dirty in Thor 4
This adds to the revelation that Kevin Feige indicated a few years ago on Variety’s Playback with Kris Tapley (via Comic Book) that he is definitely considering bringing Marvel characters to Disney+. Furthermore, the streaming service will enable the Marvel cinematic universe to expand in ways that were not feasible before.
While no official statement has been made, ignoring the fans’ reactions to this news is impossible.
Fans want Kevin Feige to bring Sif and Beta Ray Bill to the MCU
Although Beta Ray Bill might not be on the same level as Thor when it comes to popularity, he’s one of only a few people worthy of wielding the Mjolnir. The loyal ally to the Asgardians, the character was featured in an early version of the movie Thor: Ragnarok, as confirmed by Kevin Feige (via Crave Online), he was later removed as the CEO felt such a small role wouldn’t do justice to the character.
Adding on to the lines of this statement, one fan stated that if this is the only way to bring the character to life in the MCU, then so be it.
If this is how he finally gets introduced in the MCU so be it

Lady Sif IS the strong female the MCU needed. Fantastic actress too.

Some fans have expressed disappointment that the studio has failed to introduce a character like Beta Ray Bill despite having such a large roster of Marvel heroes. Others agreed that a series with both Lady Sif and Beta Ray Bill sounds fantastic.
That would be quite cool actually. I really don't know why they haven't given her more to do.

Fans also noted that actress Jaime Alexander might have done much more for the character if she had been given the correct opportunities and scenes. Furthermore, such a strongย character should not go to waste, and it would be interesting to see what additional creativity and thrill she can offer to the role.
