Hidetaka Miyazaki is a renowned director known for creating video games that are loved by millions around the world. Ranging from the Dark Souls series to Bloodborne and the latest Elden Ring, he has made pieces of entertainment that allow the player to have a unique playing experience throughout.
While he mainly relies on the genre of Dark Fantasy, fans would love to see him try something new and unique. He was asked about the same via Gamespot if he would like to work on the Call of Duty franchise, but the response was not very reassuring.
Hidetaka Miyazaki Reveals If He Would Like To Work On The Call Of Duty Franchise
As mentioned before, the renowned director is known for his works in a Dark Fantasy world setting, making it doubtful if his involvement in a franchise like Call of Duty which is more of an Active Shooter would be fruitful. It is also a first-person shooter mode game which is quite the opposite of the games he usually makes.
When asked if he would be willing to work on the franchise, Hidetaka Miyazaki replied-
“That is a hard question, I don’t think I’ve thought about it. What do you think?”
It is also mentioned in the interview’s transcript how the director was laughing when he answered the question, unveiling how he was not serious and took it lightly.
The chances of someone like Miyazaki directing the Call of Duty franchise are slim, but if it does happen it is certain to introduce new and unique elements that have never been seen before, which might be just what it needs right now.
Director Of Dark Souls Refuses To Confirm An Age-Old Theory
Dark Souls 3 came out back in 2016, and a running theory ever since has been how the main character, called The Ashen One, has been stuck in a time loop. The theory further speculates how the character keeps dying and resurrecting again, which makes the already forlorn storyline of the game seem more unfortunate.
When Miyazaki was finally asked if the theory held any credit, the director chose to indirectly avoid the question by saying how it was a tough one to answer. He then further disclosed how the Fire remained in a state of constant regeneration and how a big thing would be created while it did that, which was the director’s attempt at spoiling anything at the time.
Fortunately, a deeper insight into this particular concept was given in his later works through Elden Ring. The idea of recurring birth and death has been explored through the rune of death in the title and could have been potentially inspired by this particular theory.
