So, the enemy types can be much more varied. We can introduce multiple different factions. You’ve seen chaos appear in this game. So, there’ll be levels that were only Tyranids before, and then we can introduce chaos into those, and we can really start to mix things up.

He also revealed that Space Marine 2 will not only feature the classic PvP battles but also have a PvE mode named Operations. This will allow players to experience a co-op objective-based mode where they encounter additional enemy factions.

I think Warhammer has always sort of found this, well, especially in sort of the last 10 years or so, has really found this strength in PVE multiplayer. We’ve seen it with like Vermintide and Darktide, especially.

He talked about how the implementation of different enemy factions in PvE multiplayer modes was a strong point for Warhammer 40k games. He used examples of previous games like Vermintide and Darktide

Hollis-Leick further emphasized that Operations is designed to be replayable and extends the game beyond its main campaign. The game’s PvE will feature six different classes with unique playstyles and skill progressions.

Hollis-Leick himself even confirmed the existence of some of the factions as he talked about implementing chaos into the game. He also mentioned that the Chaos Marines would be a part of the 6v6 PvP mode.

Fans are particularly excited about the possibility of encountering lesser-known factions like the Necrons and the Tau, whose awakening could significantly alter gameplay dynamics.
