Jonathan Majors is one of the best stars of this generation, and critics have immensely praised him for his stellar performances in his films. The actor was set to become the villain in Phase 5 and Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after making his debut in Loki Season 1 as He Who Remains. He also gave a brief cameo as Kang The Conqueror in Ant-Man 3.
However, as he made his official debut as the villain in Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, fans were not blown away by his performance as everyone had hoped, because of a ton of reasons. Later, his life was turned upside down as he was convicted of assault and harassment on his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The Lovecraft Country actor is looking forward to making things right by getting on the good side of the viewers and giving a mesmerizing performance in his upcoming supernatural revenge thriller titled Merciless.
Jonathan Majors’ Final Appearance In Hollywood Retreated Him Into Obscurity
Jonathan Majors’ career took a major blow in March 2023 when he was arrested for being guilty of the heinous crimes he had committed against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The actor had also been tied to several big projects in Hollywood but was later fired. Majors’ last performance was in Ant-Man 3, featuring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.
However, the threequel was a terrible disaster that earned low ratings and was a box office bomb to ever come out of the Marvel Studios. The film took an interesting approach to telling its story, set in the Quantum Realm. Dedicating an entire film to a world of CGI was a huge gamble for Marvel that did not pay off, primarily because Marvel’s use of CGI has been a point of criticism for several years.
Moreover, a weak story, disappointing dialogues, and worse character development put the nail in the coffin. As a result, even Jonathan Majors’ Kang The Conqueror could not save the film from the backlash it received from the fans.
Sadly, he never got an opportunity to get on the good side of the Marvel fans, as he was later fired after being proven guilty. His stardom came to an end, and he became a name that was eventually forgotten in the minds of the fans.
Jonathan Majors’ Next Project Can Redeem His Image In Hollywood

The esteemed news organization shared a brief plot of the film stating,
Merciless follows a top CIA interrogator who, after the woman he loves is overtaken by a malevolent force, is forced to go even darker to defeat it.
The film will start production in late fall and it will take place in Saskatchewan, Martin Villeneuve is known for his sci-fi work Mars et Avril, and it will be produced by Christopher Tuffin.
The producer has high hopes from the Devotion actor because he “refuses to let the court of public opinion and selective prosecution undermine great art and artists.” Moreover, he addressed the Gully actor’s past to be irrelevant and did not want to “deprive artists of their careers.” He said,
In graduate school, I had the good fortune to study screenwriting under Blacklist scribe Millard Lampell and learned from him the dangers of letting politics undermine due process and deprive artists of their careers. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be working with Jonathan who is such a great talent now that this matter has been adjudicated.
Other producers of the film are Kevin Townsend and Kevin DeWalt, along with executive producers executive producers Amanda Delaplaine, Chris Ochs, Andrew Bates, and Ben DeWalt. Nevertheless, the upcoming film has set high hopes, and fans are looking forward to watching Majors in his first role after his arrest.
